How Ordering Works: From Free 3D Design to Delivery

Most of what happens between requesting a free design and cabinets showing up at your door is out of your hands — which is exactly the point. Here’s what actually happens at each step, and roughly how long each one takes.

Step 1: Request Your Free Design

Fill out the form on our Free Design page — it takes less than a minute. Tell us about your space and your style, and upload photos or a rough sketch if you have one (see our measuring guide if you haven’t measured yet — you don’t need to have it perfect).

Step 2: A Designer Reaches Out

Within 24 hours, a real Cabford designer — not a bot, not a call center — will contact you to talk through your space, your style, and your timeline.

Step 3: Get Your 3D Design & Itemized Quote

Within 48–72 hours you’ll receive a 3D rendering of your kitchen and an itemized, cabinet-by-cabinet quote. This step is free and there’s no obligation to buy.

Step 4: Revise Until It’s Right

Request changes as many times as you need — a different door color, a different layout, an added pantry cabinet. There’s no charge and no limit on revisions at this stage.

Step 5: Approve Your Quote and Check Out

When you’re ready, approve your quote and it converts to your cart in one click — nothing is charged until you check out. In your cart, you choose ready-to-assemble or fully assembled for each cabinet (assembled adds $75 per cabinet and ships in 8–12 business days instead of 3–7). Checkout is two simple steps — Shipping, then Payment — and you don’t need to create an account to complete your order. We accept major cards as well as Affirm and Klarna for flexible financing.

Step 6: What Happens After You Order

You’ll get an order confirmation by email right away, along with an order number. From there your order moves through processing (typically 1–2 business days), then ships. Ready-to-assemble cabinets ship flat and arrive by curbside delivery in 3–7 business days; assembled cabinets take 8–12 business days since they’re built to order.

Step 7: Assembling and Installing

If you ordered ready-to-assemble cabinets, every panel is labeled and the hardware is bagged by step — most people find it takes about twenty minutes per cabinet with just a screwdriver and a level. Assembled cabinets arrive with the doors and drawers already on, ready to install.
