The project
This Orange, CA homeowner wanted to replace an older kitchen with a brighter, more functional layout that feels open to the dining area. The original room had dated oak cabinetry, limited preparation space and a closed-in work zone, so the design focused on cleaner lines, better storage and a more useful connection between cooking and everyday living.
The new U-shaped plan uses Avelora Matte White Slab RTA cabinets with a generous peninsula for prep, serving and casual seating. The collection’s smooth matte-white PET slab doors create the streamlined, handle-forward look shown in the finished kitchen, while plywood cabinet boxes, full-access soft-close drawer glides and concealed soft-close hinges support practical daily use.
White quartz countertops extend across the peninsula for a durable, low-maintenance work surface, paired with a simple white backsplash, stainless-steel appliances and warm wood-look flooring. Full-height uppers, deep base storage and the reworked cabinet run make better use of vertical space and help keep cookware, groceries and countertop appliances organized.
