Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering, cabinet specs, shipping, and assembly.

ORDERING

Ordering & Free Design

How does the free 3D design service work?

Fill out a short form on our Free Design page — it takes less than a minute. A real Cabford designer (not a bot) will reach out within 1 business day to talk through your space and style. Within 48–72 hours, you'll receive a 3D rendering of your kitchen along with an itemized, cabinet-by-cabinet quote. The design and quote are completely free, with no obligation to buy. Read our full step-by-step guide →

Do I need exact measurements before I request a design?

No — a rough sketch or a few photos of your space are enough to get started. If you'd like to measure ahead of time, our guide on how to measure your kitchen walks through it, but it's not required.

Can I make changes to my design after I receive it?

Yes. You can request as many revisions as you need — a different door color, a different layout, an added pantry cabinet — at no charge and with no limit at this stage.

Do I need to create an account to order?

No. Guest checkout is fully supported, and you don't need an account to complete your order. You can create one afterward if you'd like to track it.

Do you offer pricing for contractors or trade professionals?

Yes — visit our Pro page to learn about our trade program and get in touch with our team.

CABINETS

Cabinet Specs & Construction

What are your cabinets made of?

Cabford cabinets are built to last. Every cabinet box is manufactured to precise standards from 3/4" plywood, and all hinges and drawer glides are fully adjustable with soft-close technology for a luxury look and feel.

How deep and how tall are your cabinets?

Base cabinets have a 30" box on adjustable leveling legs, which brings them to the standard 34.5" height — add a 1.5" countertop and your finished counter is at the standard 36". The box is 23.82" (about 24") deep. Wall cabinets are 12" deep and come 30", 36" or 42" high, plus 12"–24"-high bridge cabinets for over a range hood or refrigerator. Tall pantry and appliance cabinets have an 85.28" or 91.26" box (about 90" or 96" on the leveling legs) and are 23.82" deep. See our cabinet sizes and layout guide for every width.

Can your cabinets support a granite or quartz countertop?

Yes. The 3/4" plywood box construction is built to carry standard stone countertops.

Are the cabinet sides finished?

Yes — exposed cabinet sides are finished to match the doors. For a fully built-in look at the end of a cabinet run, most people add a decorative end panel.

What color are the cabinet interiors?

You choose the cabinet box color when you build your order — White or Gray — and it applies across all the cabinets in that collection.

Can I choose which side the door hinges on?

Yes, on single-door cabinets. When you add a single-door cabinet to your cart you'll pick left or right hinging. Double-door cabinets and drawer bases don't need the choice.

Do the cabinets come with handles or knobs?

All the assembly hardware and the soft-close hinges are included with every cabinet. Decorative knobs and pulls aren't part of our current range, so you can choose whichever style you like from a local or online hardware supplier.

PLANNING

Design & Planning

How many cabinets do I need for a typical kitchen?

Our starting prices are based on a 10x10 kitchen — two adjacent 10-foot walls, 20 linear feet in total — which is the industry-standard way to compare cabinet pricing. The starting price covers 9 cabinets only; filler strips, end panels and toe kick are extra. Your designer will build an itemized list for your actual layout, trim included. Browse RTA collections →

What are fillers, toe kicks, and end panels for?

They're the finishing pieces that make a run of cabinets look built-in: fillers close small gaps between a cabinet and a wall, toe kicks cover the recessed space at the floor, and end panels finish an exposed cabinet side. You'll find them grouped under Trim & Fillers when you're choosing cabinets.

Do you have cabinets for corners?

Yes — a blind corner base cabinet is available for turning a corner in an L- or U-shaped layout. Your designer will flag where you need one.

Do you offer bathroom vanities?

Yes. Floating vanity bases and vanity drawer units are available from 15" to 36" wide, in the same door styles and colors as our kitchen cabinets, so a matching kitchen and bath is straightforward.

Do you sell countertops?

No — we focus on cabinetry, so countertops are best sourced locally where you can pick your slab and have it templated to your finished cabinet run.

Can I order a sample before I buy?

Yes. Door samples come in two sizes, 11″ × 15″ and 6″ × 6″, from $5.99 plus shipping. Return a sample within 90 days and we’ll refund the sample price (shipping isn’t refunded) and email you a one-time $15 code for your cabinet order (one code per order). Browse door samples →

SHIPPING

Shipping & Delivery

How long does shipping take?

Ready-to-assemble cabinets ship flat within 3–7 business days. Fully assembled cabinets are built to order and ship within 8–12 business days. Delivery usually takes a few more business days after that, depending on your location; the carrier will contact you to schedule it.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — orders of $2,500 or more ship free. Below that, shipping is based on the total weight of your order, starting at $6 for small parcels, and you’ll see the exact cost in your cart before you pay. We deliver to the 48 contiguous US states and Washington, DC.

What does curbside delivery mean?

Orders over 150 lb travel by freight truck. The driver lowers the shipment to the curb at your address with a liftgate rather than carrying it inside, and the carrier calls ahead to schedule the day. Plan to have a second person and a bit of space ready on delivery day, and inspect the shipment before you sign for it. Smaller orders, up to 150 lb, ship by parcel to your door.

What's the difference between ready-to-assemble and fully assembled cabinets?

Ready-to-assemble (RTA) cabinets ship flat with labeled panels and bagged hardware, and typically ship sooner (in 3–7 business days). Fully assembled cabinets arrive with the doors and drawers already on, ready to install, and add $75 per cabinet with an 8–12 business day build time. Read the full RTA vs. assembled comparison →

Will I get a confirmation once I order?

Yes — you'll receive an order confirmation email right away with your order number.

INSTALLATION

Assembly & Installation

Do ready-to-assemble cabinets come with instructions?

Yes. Every panel is labeled and the hardware is bagged by step, so you can follow along in order.

How long does it take to assemble a cabinet?

Most people find it takes about twenty minutes per cabinet with just a screwdriver and a level.

Do I need to assemble fully assembled cabinets too?

No — assembled cabinets arrive with the doors and drawers already attached and are ready to install.

Is professional installation required?

No professional installation is required for either option, though many customers hire a local installer or contractor for a full kitchen remodel. We don't provide installation ourselves.

PAYMENTS

Pricing, Payment & Financing

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, as well as Affirm and Klarna for flexible financing.

Do you offer financing?

Yes — Affirm and Klarna are both available at checkout so you can split your purchase into payments.

Can I use a promo code?

Yes. Apply your code in your cart, and it will automatically carry through to checkout.

How many steps is checkout?

Just two — Shipping, then Payment. You don't need to create an account to complete your order.

RETURNS

Returns, Damage & Warranty

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

Inspect your shipment before signing for it. If you can see damage at delivery, note it on the delivery paperwork while the driver is there and contact us within 7 days with photos. If you find damage after opening the boxes, let us know within 14 days of delivery — stop assembling that cabinet and photograph it before you go any further.

Are assembled or made-to-order cabinets returnable?

Cabinets that are built or assembled to order are final sale.

Do your cabinets come with a warranty?

Yes — every Cabford cabinet is covered by a 5-year limited warranty.
